Recently, the MFH35-T38R32-4305 drill rod manufactured by Luoyang Jinlu Cemented Carbide Tools Co., Ltd. underwent field performance tests at a gold mine in Shandong Province and an iron mine in Liaoning Province. Both tests yielded outstanding results, with the drill rod demonstrating exceptional service life, excellent compatibility, and remarkable stability, earning unanimous praise from mining customers and laying a solid foundation for the market promotion of the company’s rock-drilling drill rods.
This test was led and implemented by the Thread R&D Department of Luoyang Jinlu, with engineers providing end-to-end monitoring and recording, and validation conducted strictly under real mining operating conditions. At a gold mine in Shandong Province, drill rods were paired with multiple carrier units from Atlas Copco, Gaia, and other manufacturers, as well as with 1838 and 23K rock drills, across different working levels. Data show that the drill rods achieved a maximum cumulative penetration of 3,192 meters (across 12 working faces), with most rods failing due to normal wear and tear—yet their service life exceeded that of currently used products on site by 1–2 working faces, demonstrating overall superior performance. Currently, the gold mine in Shandong has placed a bulk order for this drill rod model, further enhancing its market acceptance.
At an iron mine in Liaoning Province, despite challenging operating conditions characterized by numerous stratification layers and significant variability in rock hardness, the drill rods, when paired with XCMG crawler-mounted rigs and 18U and 1838 rock drills, delivered stable performance without any early- or mid-term failures. During testing, the drill rods achieved a cumulative penetration of 3,830 meters, with the longest continuous operation spanning 16 working faces, resulting in an overall service life that ranks among the industry’s best. Customer feedback highlights the Jinlu drill rods’ clear advantages in both efficiency and service life, as well as their superior quality stability compared with currently used products, making them highly suitable for large-scale replacement.
Field tests conducted at two mining sites have thoroughly validated that the Luoyang Jinlu MFH35-T38R32-4305 drill rod delivers exceptional performance across a wide range of operating conditions, including hard rock, soft rock, and complex stratified ore formations. It boasts long service life, excellent compatibility, and high reliability, is fully compatible with mainstream rock-drilling equipment, and effectively meets the core requirements of mines for efficient excavation, cost reduction, and productivity enhancement.
As an innovative enterprise in the cemented carbide tools sector, Luoyang Jinlu has consistently aligned technological R&D with market needs and remained committed to the domestic substitution of mining rock-drilling tools. The successful completion of this drill pipe test represents another significant breakthrough for the company in thread design, materials processing, and product reliability. Moving forward, Jinlu will continue to place customers at the center of its operations, optimizing product performance and enhancing its service system to deliver more efficient, durable, and cost-effective rock-drilling solutions for mining, construction, and other industries, thereby supporting the high-quality development of the sector.
