To warmly celebrate the 99th anniversary of the founding of the Chinese People’s Liberation Army, carry forward the fine tradition of supporting the military and honoring families of service members, and inspire veteran employees to remain true to their original aspirations and excel in their roles, Luoyang Jinlu held a themed event on the afternoon of July 31 titled “Still Steadfast Through the Years, Hearts of Soldiers Unchanged,” marking the August 1st Armed Forces Day. Twenty-three veteran employees from various departments gathered together to reminisce about their military days and discuss the company’s development.

At the outset of the event, Mr. Xu, Chairman of the company’s trade union, extended his heartfelt holiday greetings and highest respect to all veteran employees. He emphasized that veterans are a precious asset to the company—having once dedicated their prime years to national defense, they have now exchanged their military uniforms for work attire, yet continue to uphold their fine conduct, taking the lead and working diligently in their respective roles, thereby making significant contributions to the company’s development. He encouraged them to carry forward the spirit of building a strong military—“obedient to the Party’s command, capable of winning battles, and characterized by excellent conduct”—to remain as steadfast as ever, with their original aspirations as firm as rock, and to achieve new accomplishments on the enterprise’s next journey.

Fun activities to relive the spirit of military life

Following this, a series of unique and engaging activities took place. Twenty-three veterans were randomly divided into teams to take part in simulated military‑training games. In the “Battlefield Supply Relay” segment, water bottles zipped swiftly from one comrade to another, with everyone moving efficiently and coordinating seamlessly. During the “Red Song Quiz,” as soon as a classic melody began, participants eagerly vied to name the song, creating an atmosphere of intense excitement that vividly showcased their deep affection for military culture. To conclude, all gathered together to sing “Unity Is Strength” in unison; their resounding voices brought the event to a rousing climax, reaffirming their unwavering commitment to unity and forward momentum.

A symposium for exchange, jointly reflecting on our original aspirations.

Following the recreational activities, Mr. Jing, Assistant to the General Manager, delivered a welcoming address before the symposium. On behalf of the company, he extended festive greetings and heartfelt condolences to all veteran employees, commending their spirit of “extraordinary resilience, unwavering combativeness, and selfless dedication.” He emphasized that veteran staff members are a vital force in the company’s development, urging them to carry forward the glorious traditions of the military, infuse their work with a deep sense of patriotism and national responsibility, and lead their colleagues through concrete actions, thereby contributing even more significantly to the company’s high‑quality growth. At the same time, the company will continue to show care and concern for its veteran employees, creating better conditions for their personal and professional development.

Following this, the solemn yet warm symposium officially commenced. Participants gathered around a table, speaking freely and fondly recalling their military careers. Veterans who had served in peacekeeping operations reminisced about their days and nights in uniform, moved to tears; others shared poignant tales of standing shoulder to shoulder with comrades during flood‑relief efforts and other high‑risk missions, their eyes welling up as they spoke of those unforgettable moments. Still others, who had worked in logistics or guarded the base, looked back on their younger selves from twenty years ago, sharing amusing anecdotes from their youth—moments that at times brought tears to even the steadiest of hearts, and at others filled the room with laughter. All agreed that their time in the military had forged an unyielding spirit and a disciplined, resolute work ethic. Though their roles may have varied, their core identity as soldiers remained unchanged: they vowed never to lose the qualities that defined them, to remain true to their oath—ready to answer the call when called upon, and to carry forward their commitment even after leaving active service.

Following the symposium, all 23 veterans lined up in formation. Led by a representative of the company’s veteran workforce, they faced the crimson national flag, raised their right fists, and reaffirmed their solemn oath of enlistment. “I am a soldier of the People’s Liberation Army of China. I swear…” Their resolute vows, firm and powerful, expressed boundless loyalty to the Party, the motherland, and the people, as well as an unwavering determination to fulfill their duties with dedication and responsibility.

The successful organization of the “Still Steadfast, Military Spirit Unchanged” themed event not only allowed veteran employees to feel the warmth and respect of the company family but also further strengthened team cohesion and unity. All participants unanimously pledged to continue embodying the military ethos in their daily work, translating the fine traditions of resilience and readiness to tackle tough challenges into concrete actions at their posts, thereby contributing the “veteran spirit” to the company’s pursuit of higher‑quality development.
